How often should I clean my ring?
Its a 14k white gold band with mini diamonds in it with a citrine stone. How often should this piece of jewelry be cleaned?
How often you clean jewelry depends on you. How often do your hands get dirty? How often do you apply lotion on your hands, etc. Everybody is different, so the need to clean jewelry is more frequent for some than others. However, citrine cannot be cleaned using harsh chemicals or sonic cleaners due to it's nature.
Go to Wal-Mart's jewelry department and pick up Connoisseurs's All-Purpose Jewelry Cleaning Kit. It contains a jar of delicate jewelry cleaner which will not harm the citrine. Afterwards, use the polishing cloth that's included in the kit to buff the jewelry and give it shine. They also make a jewelry soap that you squeeze onto a little brush and you brush your ring while you wear it; don't worry, it's safe for human skin!
